Dreaming of Summer

We have had a very mild winter this year here in Michigan, below normal snow fall and temperatures. But for some reason this winter feels very long……. So I'm longing for spring planting and summer flowers. I've been scanning thru my pictures from last summer and thought I'd share.

Coneflower

Fuchsia

Allium

Daisies

Clematis

Begonia

Pansies

Bleeding Hearts

Now aren't you longing for summer too? Are you starting to plan your gardening for this year? I'd love to hear about your garden and what you are going to plant. If you want another gardening fix look at our previous gardening post that features our hydrangeas.

That does it, I am heading out to the garden center today. This makes me want to ditch my plans for a veggie garden for flowers instead. Jaw-dropping spectacular photography.

Beautiful. Love the coneflower. Deer will not eat them but I have trouble growing them. Things the deer eat I grow just fine.

We Michiganders must be on the same wavelength! I posted my blooms from last year yesterday. I've only lived here since 2006 so I have never seen a winter like this here. I'm curious what to anticipate for blooming - timing and success - wondering what, if any impact there will be. Any clue?

So lovely, adore your garden!! Yes, I am dreaming as well. Today as we have snow flurries I comfort myself with thoughts of tulips blooming in the Skagit Valley. They are the most beautiful site you can ever imagine as they grow them commercially there and ship them all over the world.

Laura,

I was just thinking earlier that I needed to send you a note and then I checked my email and you'd left a comment on my post!

Your flower photographs are amazing! They look professional, as in right out of a gardening book! Just beautiful.

I'm going to go look at your post regarding the jewelry. Thank you for some idea as to what that piece is. I've always wondered and thought someone in blogland will probably know!

Nancy

p/s What I was going to send a note about is the Ramsign. I just got it a few days ago and LOVE it! I got one with our last name on it...since we live in a rental I didn't want it to be wasted on a house that's not mine! lol I want to keep it forever! Thank you again! I'm going to post about it sometime!

Hi Laura, Oh my Goodness! Those flowers and your photographs are beautiful and amazing. How ever do you get shots like this? The colors are glorious.
The rose you ask about is mine and grows from the mother rose. I have these climbers all around the fence. I'm so happy to meet you.

Your pictures are amazing Laura!!! I hope to create a garden where my Spunky baby used to sit under one of the trees. I won a book on Bonnie's blog Living with Thanksgiving and it has some great ideas. It will add some color to the backyard. We have a packet of seeds that came with the card from the vet's office after Spunky crossed over. My dad bought some fertilizer and soil. I hope to get started soon.

Write now I'm just praying for spring. I don't have a garden, but I do have a boutique flower shop. I look forward to dressing up the front of the shop as I did last year to give it a french flower shop look.

Wow! Your images are stunning, Laura! My flowers, shrubs and trees are just now blooming. And it's such a joy to see color emerging from the landscape once again.

The only thing I look forward to in summer is being able to be outside a lot and enjoy the longer daylight hours. I don't much care for the intense heat and humidity we get here.

Thanks for linking these lovely blooms to Time Travel Thursday!

Hugs,
