Gaga's Goodies

Growing up, it was a Christmastime past-time of my family's to hop in the car and peruse the subdivision streets, oooing and ahhing at neighbors' windows decorated with images of Rudolph and Misses Claus, next to carefully lit pine trees gleaming in the snow.

Today, I still peruse streets to admire holiday windows, but now the windows are up several stories high. Instead of cute family houses, my neighbors are department stores and petite boutiques lighting their entranceway awnings in the place of trees, and my streets are the sidewalks of NYC.

It's a toss up for which I like best, but while my neighbors at home may have an off season with less lights one year, my department stores never fail to present in December. This season is no different. Not content with having the most infamously creative windows in Manhattan, Barneys New York upped the ante this year creating an entire holiday workshop to in draw tourists and shoppers alike - Gaga's Workshop to be exact.  The brainchild of Lady Gaga, pop music's number one enigma, and Gaga stylist and designer Nicola Forimichetti, the 5th Floor of Barney's flagship store on Madison Ave has been transformed into glorious playstation for all things Gaga. There's candy, cookies, ornaments, candles, journals, jewelry and of course, clothing. Nearly every item features some incarnation of the Lady herself.

Take a look down below.

What's more Christmasy than a snow globe?

The woman herself. She is a lacquered, mirrored and very bendy vision.

Gaga candy. Sa-weet.

Wouldn't this make an awesome armchair? It would be the only peice of furniture in my living area, but it would be wonferful.

If I could have Barney's in the palm of my hand - both literally and figuratively - I would be an extremely happy pup.

Wax candles in a bust of Gaga's face. Light in her honor just to watch her melt.

Sugary sweet Gaga goodness in the form of cut-out cookie. She looks so glam frosted.

I don't think even the crown jewels rest on such a plush peony pillow.

Hands up! Hands up! Gimmie so those embossed digits. I want the Aztec inspired stick-ons.

Paws off - because it's all mine! Actually none of it is, I'm a little cash-strapped at the moment (my horoscope tells me I'm in a high-spending phase now and I'm inclined to agree) so I purchased nothing. But you can, online! 25% of the proceeds go to Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation fostering youth empowerment and global love. So hop to and log on to Barney's New York's website to pick up a few gifts for your friends and family. Because let's get real - who doesn't love Gaga?

This soooo fun looking. I can't say I understand Lady GaGa but I admire her for her charity and causes. Plus, she is one REALLY talented lady. She makes Liberace seem absolutely boring.
Thanks for sharing. Ginger

Barney's never ceases to amaze at Christmas, but I think they have outdone themselves with this, and for a wonderful cause.

This definately made me go Ga-Ga! Alot of glam goin on there. How fun! I too remember driving the streets and seeing all the lights as a child. If we were really nice Mom would drive us to S.L. throught the Avenues. Fancy, fancy, and money, money in those days. Thanks so much for your sweet comment on my blog and for following. I am now following this fun duo.
