Mini Washi Tape Cabinet

Every craft room needs a stash of washi tape, the paper tape wonder from Japan. Then you need a place to stash your stash. I remembered I had this little cabinet tucked away in my closet, it would be perfect with a new coat of pink paint.

I removed the door and gave that tired blue cabinet a coat of pink Anne Sloan paint. The pink version is an improvement don't you think?

The camera is a tape dispenser that I found at Anthropolgie.

My growing collection of washi tape, not surprising there is a lot of pink.

This colorful little chick fits right in.

One of my inspiration boards in the background.

Andrea gave me this box of washi tape, I think she got it from the Japanese bookstore, Kino Kuniya, in NYC. This bookstore is a favorite spot to visit when I'm visiting Andrea in New York City. One time when the Cottage Guy (my hubby) was with me I said I wanted to stop in Kino's. Great we both love bookstores, off we went to explore, I when down to the craft section. He came to find me about 5 minutes later, saying did you know all the books are in Japanese?!?! Yes I knew that, the craft books are really well illustrated. I admit I have bead books in Japanese, Korean and Russian.

I'm going on a short trip to visit Andrea later this week, I can't wait!! I hope to visit the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens this trip but not on a Monday, as I found out last time, they are closed on Mondays. Hopefully I'll get some great photos to share!

A special thanks to Nita at Mod Vintage Life for featuring Andrea's post on her succulents at her party Mod Mix Monday.

I just organized my workspace and discovered I have way too much (is that possible?) washi tape. I have a cabinet similar to your pink one and I wasn't sure what to store there. I could put my tape there, but for now it is hanging on string from a plate rack.

Loved seeing all your different tapes - makes me want to go out and buy some pink.

Annie Sloane paint is fantastic and this faded pink is definitely better than the blue! I like how you are displaying your stash. An eye-catcher! Enjoy Andrea and NYC! Christa

I love your collection. I'm somewhat addicted to organizational boxes and shelves big and small. This gives me some ideas!

Your little cupboard is just adorable, Laura! I sold one very similar to yours when we moved and could kick myself for doing so. What was I thinking?! I'm trying to organize my craft supplies in 2 old cabinets and you've provided me with some inspiration. I love the little bird!!

Your little cabinet is perfect. I like it better without it's doors and in pink. Very nice!

That's a perfect way to store and view your washi tape! My stash is pretty small right now as I'm just learning all the fun things you can do with this stuff, but I know it will be growing!

that is SO Anthropologie! I wonder if it is online -- I must have one!

And your washi collection puts my few measly rolls to shame. Great stash. I was at Kino a number of years ago and had no idea they had a craft area in the basement -- we were captivated by the book. Well, I must make a next time!

Great post, the cabinet is so cute in the new pink color. But what is this new tape? How do I use it and why?
I don't know any answers, ... but I want it!!! The colors and patterns are gorgeous. Love your inspiration board!

I love your craft cabinet, Laura. I have always wanted a craft room....maybe someday. There is so much we can create when we have a space of our own. The pink color really looks nice.

Have a fun weekend creating.
