Be Bold with Turquoise

We all have our favorite colors we like to decorate with- I love pink, cream, soft green and other pastels thrown in for fun. Most of the furniture I've painted in the last few years has been a creamy white. So when Andrea asked me to paint her vintage dresser turquoise, I had an 'oh dear me' moment. Turquoise really??? Hmmm…. well, why not!

When Andrea was younger she didn't like bright colors and wouldn't to wear clothes with patterns. Once when she was little I had to change her jammies because she said they were too bright and hurt her eyes. Well, times have changed…. we have both embraced the turquoise!

A vintage postcard in the perfect color.

This dresser is in her room at home. Oh, how she would love to have it for her apartment in New York but alas, her current place is still too tiny. It will be waiting for her ….

Love the details in the mirror.

Every room needs a few vintage plates.

He should be holding earrings but those did go to NYC.

This little guy seems to say, be bold…. with turquoise!

This is kind of funny. Previously I did not like turquoise but in my post yesterday thinking I was actually on to knit a mohair blanket of white, pink, turquoise and light blue.

I think the cabinet is beautiful.

I guess I'm just a beige guy caught up in a pink and turquoise world. That is really a cool dresser, I should pay more attention to it!

Turquoise is a beautiful color to work with. It adds a modern feel to many items. You did a great job. Of course I love the cherub, and that frame.

Looks great, and turquoise can fit in with just about any other colour in a room as an accent.

I just love torquoise. In fact, I was thinking of re-doing a spare bedroom in that color. This vintage dresser is so pretty. And you know my other bold color - RED!

I love the turquoise color! This piece turned out great. I painted a hutch top that's on my desk a similar color and I just love it. I'm your newest follower and I hope you can pop over to Cottage and Creek and follow back. The detailing on the dresser is stunning. What a fabulous transformation.

You sure did a good job on it. I don't know how you get that look. Everyone is painting and I must try it sometime. I have refinished furniture before but never painted like I see all of you talented people.
