Dining Room Pretties

Now that I'm starting to transaction back to the cottage, I am reminder all over again why I love it here. Beside being in a beautiful location close to Lake Michigan, the cottage is wonderful. It is bright with soft greens, pinks and creams, it is old built 80 to 100 years ago and loaded with charm. One of my favorite rooms is the dining room, french doors, high ceiling and wood floors.

This is one of the little tables that brighten that room.

Nothing here is expensive most of the table top beauties came from the thrift store, tarnished silver for few dollars, some of the candlesticks are from Target.

The table is an old school desk that my sisters and I used when we were kids. Back then it had purple striped contact paper on the top. It is amazing what paint and changing the knobs can do…..

In the background is my neighbor's partially finished but oh soooo charming shed.

I'll have to take you on a tour of the rest of the dining room soon……

  12. Laura,

I can smell summer, especially here in Denver! Who did the rose oil painting? Love the desk. My mother was crazy for contact paper because she could make everything match. The glass drawer handles were on the doors in my house. So beautiful!

  23. Laura, a bit of jealousy going on over here at my house. Oh how I would love a cottage near a lake. Two years ago hubby and I vacationed in Door County, WI. We saw so many cottages that we would love to have. Your table looks so lovely by the beautiful sunny window. All of the tabletop treasures are lovely. Yes, that shed is a killer. Hubs and I (more like I) have plans to build one. Not sure if it will happen this year. I have already picked up and old dutch door for it.
Glad you are going to share
    with S.Y.C.T.
    Hugs,
