Last week I wrapped up the final day of the photography class I had been taking. One of our assignments was to take photos outside in downtown Plymouth, MI. I completed that assignment then popped inside to a favorite shop, Home Sweet Home and snapped a few pictures…...
Home Sweet Home has beautiful displays throughout the store but I focused on all the beautiful baubles. Lots of pearls, crystals, gold, silver and charms adorn both necklaces and bracelets.
I loved the vintage style mannequins the jewelry was displayed on.
I could have taken home boat loads of these jewels but I exercised self-control! If you ever find yourself in Plymouth, Michigan a stop at Home Sweet Home is a must.
I found my photography class very beneficial, I've learned to look at what I was photographing a little differently, with a more careful eye. I still need a better understanding of F-stops and when to use various settings but at least I have a starting point.
A big thank you to Very Merry Vintage Style for featuring our post from last week about pot holders. Very Merry Vintage Style is a wonderful blog that hosts a Share the Love Wednesday Link Party. If you missed our post click here, Princess and the Pea or Pot Holders?
Andrea my blogging partner-daughter had a big weekend, she successfully completed a half marathon which is a little over 13 miles!!!!! She just started running about six months ago and set her sights on entering a marathon. I'm dazzled and so proud of her accomplishment, congratulations!!!!!
Fantastic photos as always. I would love to go to that store. I love jewelry almost as much as dishes. Congrats to Andrea!! Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos! That looks like a great shop! I'm sure it would be delightful to visit it.

ReplyDeleteI just over dosed on eye candy. The pictures are beautiful. You would never get me out of that store.
ReplyDeleteDrooling :)

Your photography looks great! I'd love to take a class too, but I'm not sure there's any point until I get a nicer camera. Until I just keep begging my little point and shoot to do something beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing at Knick of Time Tuesday.
Blessings,

Calling by from Favourite Photo Monday as another participant, these photos of the costume jewellery are great. I still have so much to learn about photography, what fun to have done a class.
ReplyDeleteYour photographs are stunning, Laura. The composition is perfect, the lighting and exposure spot on. Wow--those baubles are exquisite, too.
ReplyDeleteThat's my kind of store. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI wish that I could find a photography class way out where I live!!! Now, the store, we probably have something fun like the place you visited, and you images are outstanding!
ReplyDeleteIf you have not had a chance yet, I hope you can stop by and view my Mosaic Monday entry as well. Very much appreciated~

Beautiful jewels, cute shop, will have to drive up there some time,
ReplyDeleteI don't know which I love more: the dress forms or the jewels. Okay, both! =) Coming over from Faded Charm and your newest follower.

Your photos are inspiring, no matter what the subject. The baubles, bangles and beads remind me of looking in my mother's jewlry drawers when I was a kid. Everything went with my sister's petticoats and my plastic high heels. Congrats to Andrea! She keeps improving with age. What's next??!!
ReplyDeleteYou fed an excellent job capturing beauty in each of your pictures. Very well done. I am following you too. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteI am attracted to jewels too. Very nice photos.

Fantastic shots Laura! F5.6? I am trying to teach myself...a very slow process. Thank god for digital cameras, I can't imagine trying to 'get it right' on film. I think your photography is wonderful. Congratulations to Andrea! A fantastic accomplishment...
